Soil Aggregate Breakdown with Colloidal Particles Release and Transport in Soil: A Perspective from Column Experiments

چکیده
The strongest fortresses often disintegrate from the inside. Likewise, soil internal forces play a critical role in initial breakdown process of aggregate, thus accelerating erosion and release colloid particles. To date, research on effect forces, especially separating electrostatic force, aggregate with particle transport is largely inadequate. Therefore, column experiments were used to investigate properties particles released disintegration model aggregates caused by different levels forces. We found that increase repulsive pressure was immediate cause breakdown, highest concentration could reach 808.36 mg L−1, mean sizes ranged 100 nm 300 nm. size distributions clay mineral composition not dominated force. In practice, change external conditions agricultural would lead then affect stability. This study aims provide micro perspective understand fine matrix its implication for soil.

Aggregate breakdown during tillage in a Mediterranean loamy soil
Long-term tillage negatively affects soil aggregation, but little is known about the short-term effects of tillage. We investigated the effects of intensive tillage (moldboard plowing) and conservation tillage (chisel plowing) on aggregate breakage during tillage in a long-term study located in the semiarid Ebro river valley (NE Spain). The type of tillage resulted in different soil aggregate d...
متن کاملThe production and degradation of trichloroacetic acid in soil: results from in situ soil column experiments.
Previous work has indicated that the soil is important to understanding biogeochemical fluxes of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in the rural environment, in forests in particular. Here, the hydrological and TCA fluxes through 22 in situ soil columns in a forest and moorland-covered catchment and an agricultural grassland field in Scotland were monitored every 2 weeks for several months either as co...
متن کاملPesticide Transport Models: Comparison and Validation with Soil Column Leaching Experiments
Computer models to simulate pesticide transport in the unsaturated zone will be an important management tool in coming years. However, not many efforts were directed to validate the usefulness of such models. In this study, the simulation models GLEAMS, PRZM, and LEACHM were validated. The three models use different mathematical concepts to compute one-dimensional flow and transport in a homoge...
